MINDFULNESS

Waking Up to Life

I have been aware of aspects of the Mindfulness Practices  for many years and last year, 2015, undertook the 20 hour Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training at Swansea University, South Wales. Many of the practices they teach resonate with me as I was introduced to some of these through my Breathwork Training in 2002 - 2004 and also over many years have been following Eckhart Tolle - The Power of Now.

Having said that, I am even more aware now of following a daily practice  (meditation, conscious awareness, being in the Now) and feel it is a foundation for all the other aspects of self development we offer.

Heather also uses Mindfulness with her photography and writing workshops.  Together, it is our intention to bring mindfulness as part of the techniques and skills under the umbrella of The Bohemian Way – and we will continue to deepen our practice and learn too.

I wrote this poem during a four hour silent session. I hope it gives you a flavour of mindfulness and how the practice on a daily basis brings in more creativity, expansiveness and freedom.

MINDFULNESS

Ecstasy.

The Being trembles.

Pleasure

As the distance between thoughts elongates.

Gap, space, resonance.

Feelings deep within

Liken to a cave

Where light quietly digests its own darkness.

What is next?   Is there something?

Nothing there but endless imaginings.

Buried treasure that waits to be revealed for what it is.

Time Stops .

We will endeavour to bring mindfulness practice into our days in Spain and in Wales. For more information, read books by Jon Kabat-Zinn including 'Full Catastrophe Living', and Eckhart Tolle – 'The Power of Now, Stillness Speaks and A New Earth'.
